Members of the South African Municipal Union Workers (Samwu) have been protesting outside the Pikitup head offices since the beginning of the week.
Workers are protesting over over working conditions and salary increases.
Johannesburg Mayor Parks Tau, along with councillors, was in Braamfontein this morning as part of a clean-up operation following days of violent protests.
