[WATCH] Consumers queue as bottle stores open their doors

Day one of level three national lockdown brought with it an air of excitement as South Africans geared up to stock up on alcohol.
Hundreds of customers were already queued outside Makro in Woodmead waiting for the clock to strike.

"I'm not stocking, it's for me because I celebrated my birthday on the 9th (of May) so today it's almost about me.”
She said she went to the store to restock.

"it allows them to buy 6 cases of beer or ciders, 5 cases of wine as well as 12 bottles of spirits.
"They can buy a combination of these up to 120 litres as a maximum."
