[WATCH] Off-duty cop injures self, three others
Police are investigating an incident where an off-duty Johannesburg metro police officer crashed his official vehicle while transporting three people at the weekend.
Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says the officer has been charged with reckless and negligent driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Minnaar says the officer rolled his vehicle on Randfontein Road in Glen Ridge, Soweto.

"The off-duty officer who caused an accident on Sunday with JMPD van has been charged for reckless and negligent driving and suspected drunk and driving.
"The officer was transporting three civilians when the van overturned when he lost control. The officer will also be charged for misconduct.”
Minnaar says an internal probe into the crash will also be launched.
