Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Speaker of the National Assembly Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula suspended the National Assembly sitting on Friday after EFF MPs disrupted President Cyril Ramaphosa's speech on Friday.
Ramaphosa was replying to the debate on the Presidency’s budget vote speech.
As the president was about to address the house, EFF MP Sinawo Tambo rose up on a point of order saying Ramaphosa violated his oath of office after a criminal complaint was opened against him by former spy boss Arthur Fraser.
Several points of order were made from different parties and ultimately prompted Speaker Mapisa-Nqakula to call parliamentary protection services to remove the EFF MPs from the Assembly.
"I am suspending the business of the House and chief whips can you please consult," said Mapisa-Nqakula
On Thursday, the EFF MPs were removed from the house when Ramaphosa was delivering his office's budget vote speech.
