[WATCH] EFF: We will be governing Tshwane or Joburg by next week
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is confident that a mayoral chain will soon be hanging around the neck of one of its members.
“Whoever is going to support the EFF here (Tshwane), we will support them in Johannesburg. So be rest assured that by the end of next week the EFF will be having a mayor in one of the two municipalities,” said a confident EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu on Thursday.
He addressed members of the media on the sidelines of a council meeting.
Shivambu believes that the African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) need their support in order to govern.
“It’s a matter of engagements that we are going to be involved in over the next few days.”
