[WATCH] Free State suspect detained in dog cage

Police in the Free State are investigating a video which shows a Hennenman-based man inhumanely detained inside a dog cage.

According to information, the incident dates back to 2019.
The shows a man hunched over, with his hands in cuffs, inside a double-door dog cage on top of an official police bakkie.
The man sits on the one side of the cage while a police dog barks in the next.
In an effort to authenticate the video, the man was identified as Tshediso Paul Mohale.
Free State Police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says provincial commissioner Baile Motswenyane has instituted an urgent investigation.
He says the matter is sub judice.
Legal counsel for Mohale, Fannie Zim, is yet to give a formal response.
