WATCH: Helen Joseph toilets ‘full of feces’ amid water crisis

Patients at various Johannesburg hospitals have described their suffering amid the water supply outages in the area.
A power failure at the Eikenhof pump station has affected several municipalities, including Mogale City, Merafong, and Rant West.
While the problem has since been resolved, Rand Water says it will take time for the water to reach some residents.
A patient at the Helen Joseph hospital, who preferred to remain anonymous, says the situation at the facility is dire.
"The biggest struggle here is using the bathrooms, the bathrooms are full of feces. You can actually smell the feces as you are lying in bed, it's not manageable because we can't go to the bathrooms.

"We are eating and taking medication but we cannot go to the bathroom. And even patients that are on disposable adult diapers cannot be bathed because there is no water," the patient said.

On Monday, the Gauteng Department of Health said it was working on a solution to assist hospitals as water tankers are not enough.
The patient claims they were only given two small bottles of water a day.
"Lucky enough my husband brought me four liters of water, so I have been drinking water and eating snacks because I have not been able to eat.”
She said they have only been given two small bottles of water for drinking and brushing their teeth. "Patients that are on disposable diapers cannot be bathed because there is no water," she added pic.twitter.com/65C56Hc722
