Updated | By Gerda de Sousa
South Africa is in the final stretch, heading for the most anticipated election since we first cast our votes back in 1994.

Voters who queue on 8 May 2019 will be part of the biggest voters' roll in the history of democratic SA.
The list on the ballots will be long, containing the names of the most parties ever to contest an election in the country.
Some of those parties have never been part of this process and have been campaigning to send representatives to Parliament for the first time.

Gerda de Sousa from the Jacaranda FM News team took the cameras along when she sat down with IEC Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo.
