WATCH: Jabulani Khumalo insists still leader of MK

The expelled former leader of the Umkhonto weSizwe party, Jabulani Khumalo, insists he still heads up the newly formed party.

Khumalo, regarded as the founder of the newly formed MK party, was recently expelled.
The party says Khumalo was asked by former president Jacob Zuma to register the party with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
Zuma is now the party leader and face on the ballot.
Asked about his current role in the MK Party, Khumalo failed to answer journalists' questions.
He attended the opening of the IEC's National Results Operation Centre on Wednesday.
“I’m here because I’m the leader of MK. No, it’s not a futile exercise. How can it be?” asked Khumalo.
“Who says I’m expelled? Who decides that I’m expelled? You can’t expel me from my own organisation. It’s impossible.”
Khumalo told journalists that he met with party leaders and resolved all matters.
He denied writing a letter to the IEC transferring leadership of the party to former President Jacob Zuma.
“There is no letter that is written by me that I’m not a party leader,” said Khumalo.
He has since approached the Electoral Court with an urgent application against the IEC's decision to remove him as the MK leader.
Khumalo claims that his signature was forged.
