WATCH LIVE: Ramaphosa to address amid reports of level 2
President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on Sunday evening amid reports he could ease the lockdown restrictions.
Ramaphosa is due to address the nation at 8pm.
The country is currently on adjusted level 3, but the Covid-19 infection rate has been on a consistent downward trajectory over the past few weeks.
Level 2 restrictions could see a relaxation of the restrictions around the sale of alcohol and an easing of the curfew.
This would provide some respite to the hard-hit restaurant and hospitality industry.
Government could also allow larger number of people to gather - a potentially significant decision in the run-up to the local elections on 1 November.
