[WATCH LIVE] Ramaphosa to address nation ahead of mooted move to level 3

President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on Sunday evening on government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
During his last address Ramaphosa said most of the country would move down to level 3 of the lockdown regulations by June 1.
The president’s address comes amid mounting speculation over which regulations would be relaxed.
Alcohol sales could be allowed under level 3, although under strict conditions, while the ban on cigarettes and tobacco products could remain.

Ramaphosa has been in consultation with various sectors of society ahead of the announcement, including trade unions, the business sector, religious leaders, political party leaders and the tourism industry.
To date South Africa has 21 343 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 407 deaths.
