"Everybody back home - man, woman, child, even the animals, even the Springboks - are totally, totally behind you," said Ramaphosa.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is in Japan for the much-anticipated Rugby World Cup final between South Africa and England. 

He visited the Springbok team on the eve of the big match to assure them of the country's support. 

"Everybody back home - man, woman, child, even the animals, even the Springboks - are totally, totally behind you," said Ramaphosa.

The President said it was a huge achievement to have made it to the final, and urged the Boks: "Forget everything else, and forget being nervous...this is the moment to look back and say wow, we've travelled an unbelievable journey to get to the final."

Ramaphosa joined the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthetwa in Japan and was greeted by a number of South Africans who are in that country for the rugby event.
