Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga says he is still a bit shaken following his hijacking ordeal on Saturday.

Msimanga was attacked by two armed men outside a restaurant in Midrand.
“I am still shaken but grateful to be alive. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, to have to be put in a position where you think your life will end in any second. I don’t want anybody to ever go through this,” says Msimanga.

He says his Mercedes was later discovered in Ga-Rankuwa.
“When the car was discovered it had already been fitted with fake number plates and was left in Ga-Rankuwa. They wanted to see if anyone would come for it. They had already removed the tracker but I was told the car came with a secondary tracker which is how it was found."
No arrests have been made.
Msimanga says he does not believe the incident was politically-motivated.
