WATCH: Cop arrested for assaulting Pick n Pay manager
A police officer from the East Rand has been arrested for allegedly assaulting the manager of a Pick ‘n Pay store in Reiger Park.
CCTV footage taken from the scene shows the officer walking towards a man and hitting him until the victim falls to the ground.
He continues to assault him until another officer approaches them.
The two officers then seen leaving the scene while the victim gets back up onto his feet.

The extent of the victim’s injuries is unclear.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) says the officer will appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
"Ipid is investigating the incident. One constable has been arrested," says the police watchdog's spokesperson Ndileka Cola.
