[WATCH] Police tight-lipped on Malema 'rifle shooting' video

National police and authorities in the Eastern Cape could not comment on Wednesday morning on video footage apparently showing Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema discharging a rifle in public.
The video footage of what appears to be Malema firing from an authentic looking weapon has gone viral.

The incident is said to have taken place over the weekend, when the red berets celebrated their 5th anniversary at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape.
In the video, Malema is seen moving to the side of the stage before firing several shots into the air.

Jacaranda FM News has sought comment from National, Eastern Cape and Gauteng police on whether a charge has been laid in terms of the alleged contravening of the Firearms Control Act.
However, there has been no comment so far.
It is understood that police are looking into the matter.
