Must Fall activist Kanya Cekeshe says black people are faced with racial
oppression on a daily basis.
Cekeshe was released on parole after serving two years in prison at the Leeuwkop Correctional Centre in Johannesburg.
He was found guilty of setting alight a police van in December 2017 but was granted special remission by President Cyril Ramaphosa in late 2019.
Cekeshe believes black South Africans should take it upon themselves to stand up against injustice.
“I firmly believe that every single black person has this feeling within them that there is something wrong in the society that we live in. Because on a daily basis, when you interact within your society, within your space, you come across these racial challenges, you come across these systematic injustices.”
