WATCH: Thousands pay tribute to Madiba

South Africans from all walks of life took part in the Mandela Remembrance Walk, commemorating the life of former President Nelson Mandela.

The event was held at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Struggle veteran and human rights lawyer George Bizos was also present to pay tribute to Madiba.
Bizos regaled the audience with his memories of Mandela.
"I see you here. I am sure Nelson Mandela, if he was still alive, would look at you and be very proud and he would be satisfied that South Africa really belongs to all of us who lives in it."
The Gauteng premier David Makhura encouraged the crowd to start living "the Madiba dream".

"We have brought people from across the province in their diversity for the remembrance walk. As we do this we recommitting ourselves to the legacy and dream of Nelson Mandela. The dream of building a country which is non-racial, non-sexist, united, prosperous and truly democratic."
