WATCH: Woman dragged for allegedly slapping a police officer
Updated | By Neo Motloung
A
video of a woman being dragged off steel chairs at the Jeppestown police station, in the Johannesburg CBD, has gone viral on social
media.
The woman can be seen where she is pulled off the chair by two officers and an unknown woman dressed in regular clothes.
The incident took place on Wednesday night.
The Jeppestown police's spokesperson, Richard Munyani, says the woman was resisting arrest after slapping an officer on duty.
"The woman came to the police station last night to certify some documents. She did not have original document," says Munyani.
Munyani says when the woman was told to bring original documents, an argument ensued, and she accused the police of not doing their jobs.
"She slapped one of the police officers in the face, and that is when she was arrested and charged with assault."
