[WATCH]:Anger as Red Ants remove illegal structures in Alex
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
The notorious Red Ants demolished a number of illegal structures in Alexandra on Friday.

Resident, who gave his name as Thembani, says they were notified early on Friday morning that the Red Ants were moving into the Marlboro Gardens area.
"We went to Marlboro traffic department to check if this is true and indeed when we got there we saw the Red Ants with all their bulldozers, who after a few hours came to demolish our homes.”
Thembani claims that a child went missing during the demolishing of the structures.
"Her mom says she was in the house when the Red Ants demolished the house. We are still trying to find out if this is true."
He has called on political leaders to address the community, as anger is rising, and warns “Marikana will happen again” if the situation is not resolved.
Gauteng police’s Kay Makhubele says officers have been monitoring the situation, but that the Red Ants have demolished all the structures and have since left the area.
