Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The Department of Water and Sanitation has confirmed that the City of Tshwane disconnected power to its buildings in Pretoria.
The City's revenue collection team has embarked on a campaign to switch off electricity in government and private sector buildings that have outstanding municipal bills.
City officials disconnected Water and Sanitation's headquarters on Thursday, saying it owes more than R1.37 million.
Spokesperson Sputnik Ratau says no service delivery has been interrupted.
"The Department is in consultation with the Department of Public Works to ensure that power is reconnected urgently.
"We wish to assure the public that no services have been disrupted by the disconnection. This matter must be resolved urgently between Public Works and City of Tshwane", says Ratau.
