We throw rocks in self-defence: students
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Protest action continued at Wits on Tuesday with students adamant that classes should not resume until their demand for free higher education is met.
Wits management said classes resumed this morning.
"A group of students tried to close the entrance to the Wits Management Campus today and they dispersed when security and the police intervened. The police have followed them and are currently managing the situation," Wits said.
This comes after the university said the operational control of the security on campus was in the hands of the police and they have agreed to deploy resources on a building by building basis.
Students today again clashed with police, pelting them with stones.

Student leader Busisiwe Seabe said students throw stones in self-defence.
"What the police are doing is violence. What we are doing is militancy. That is also a form of self-defence. We are militant and we don't have a problem with being militant," she said.
