Minister Mbalula ups his Twitter game
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has launched a social media campaign #MyPoliceStation which calls on citizens to report service delivery complaints.
Members of the public can direct message (DM) the Minister on Twitter to report any issues around service delivery.
The campaign has been motivated by a video that went viral and showed an officer at a Sandton police station sorting out her Dstv account, while ignoring people who came for assistance.

"Disciplinary processes have been initiated against Constable LC Phaswane of the Sandton police station. This must serve as a warning to other rotten potatoes. We will not tolerate rogue elements within our ranks, we must name and shame them" says Mbalula.

Mbalula has instructed all SAPS Generals in different provinces to respond to these complaints and take them seriously.
"People must report genuine cases, as scarce resources will be used to resolve these complaints, therefore people must not abuse this campaign by reporting false or hoax cases" says Mbalula.
The Police Ministry says this campaign does not replace a police station, but allows the public to inform Mbalula about service delivery failures at specific police stations.
