WEATHER: Another heat wave strikes

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western and central parts of the Free State and North West province and southern parts of Gauteng.

A heatwave wave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the northern part of the Northern Cape, Free State, North-West until Friday and Gauteng until at least Thursday.


Gauteng: Fine becoming partly cloudy and hot.

Mpumalanga: Morning and evening fog patches over the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the lowveld.

Limpopo: Partly cloudy and hot with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the extreme southern interior but very hot over Limpopo Lowveld, Limpopo Valley and the Western Bushveld of Limpopo.

North West: Fine and very hot becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. 


Rustenburg: 20 / 35


Free State: Fine and hot to very hot in the west, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Northern Cape: Fog along the coast at first otherwise fine and warm to hot but very hot over the northern interior. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly.

Western Cape: Partly cloudy along the south coast with morning cloudy patches, otherwise fine and warm but hot in the interior. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly but light to moderate along the south coast.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy in places along the coast in the morning otherwise fine and warm but hot in places in the north. The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly.


Port Elizabeth: 12 / 24


KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy in the east otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot to very hot in the north. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-east becoming moderate east to south-easterly in the afternoon.
