The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of an intense cold front expected to affect the Western and Eastern Cape provinces from Friday into Saturday.

The public and small stock farmers are advised that very cold conditions, gale force coastal and strong interior winds, heavy rain, localised flooding, snow and heavy swell conditions can be expected.

Mpumalanga: Cloudy in the east with morning fog patches on the high grounds, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in places in the Lowveld.


Mbombela: 10 / 22

Limpopo: Cloudy in the east with morning fog patches on the high grounds, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in the Lowveld.


Polokwane: 05 / 21


North West: Fine and cool.


Rustenburg: 04 / 21


Free State: Fine and cool.


Bloemfontein: 03 / 19


Northern Cape: Morning frost over the interior, otherwise fine and cool but cold in the southern high lying areas.


Kimberley: 02 / 22


Western Cape: Morning frost over the interior, otherwise fine and cool to cold. The wind along the coast will be moderate westerly to north-westerly but south-easterly along the west coast.


Cape Town: 07 / 15


Eastern Cape: Cloudy south of the escarpment at first, otherwise fine and cool. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly becoming south-westerly.


Port Elizabeth: 03 / 19


KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy at first with morning fog over the eastern interior and isolated morning showers along the north coast. It will become fine and cool but warm in the north.
