The South African Weather Service says a heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected along the northern coastal areas of the Northern Cape until Monday.

Gauteng: Fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cold, becoming cloudy from the afternoon.

Mpumalanga: Partly cloudy in the west at first, otherwise cloudy and cold with morning fog patches along the escarpment. It will be cool in the Lowveld. 

Limpopo: Partly cloudy in the west in the morning, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool with morning fog patches along the escarpment. 

North West: Fine and cold to cool, becoming cloudy to partly cloudy from the east in the afternoon. 

Free State: Fine in the west, otherwise cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to cool. 

Northern Cape: Morning frost over the interior, otherwise fine and cold to cool, but warm along the coast where it will be windy. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly.

Western Cape: Morning frost in areas over the interior, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

Eastern Cape: Morning frost in places in the interior, otherwise fine and cool. The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh in the afternoon. 

KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy in the west, otherwise cloudy and cool, but cold over the interior. Isolated showers and rain are expected along the coast.
