WEATHER: Heatwave expected in Northern Cape

The South African Weather Service issued a warning of a heatwave with persistently high temperatures that is expected in places along the coastal areas and adjacent interior of the Northern Cape.

Alexanderbaai is expected to reach a maximum temperature of 33°C on Tuesday.


The heatwave will last until Wednesday.

Mpumalanga: Partly cloudy in the east at first with morning fog patches on the eastern high ground, otherwise fine and cool but warm in the Lowveld.

Limpopo: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy in places and cool to warm.


Polokwane: 05 / 19


North West: Fine and cool becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Free State: Fine and cool but cold in places in the extreme east.


Bloemfontein: 03 / 19


Northern Cape: Morning frost on the southern high ground otherwise fine and cool but warm to hot in the extreme west. It will become partly cloudy over the northern and central interior with isolated thundershowers in the extreme north.

Western Cape: Cool in the extreme south-west, otherwise fine and warm but hot in places in the north-west.

Eastern Cape: Fine and warm.
