WEATHER: Hot and humid with severe thunderstorms

Severe thunderstorms are expected in KwaZulu-Natal from the afternoon except in the north-east. Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions over eastern KwaZulu-Natal and the Lowveld of both Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers mainly from afternoon but scattered in the south.

Mpumalanga: Hot in the Lowveld, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, becoming scattered on the highveld and along the escarpment.

Limpopo: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the Lowveld, becoming scattered in the extreme south from late afternoon.

Free State: Cool in places in the east, otherwise cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape: Fog in the west at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

Western Cape: Isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east at first, where it will be hot, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with rain in the west, spreading to south in the afternoon, while clearing from the west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly.

Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.



Port Elizabeth: 20 / 23


KwaZulu-Natal: Fine and hot but very hot in the east. It will become cloudy from the west later with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.
