WEATHER: Isolated showers expected in most parts of SA

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands, and West Coast District of the Western Cape and western parts of the Northern Cape.

Severe thunderstorms are expected in the northern interior of Eastern Cape, south-eastern parts of Northern Cape and south-western parts of Free State. 


Extremely hot conditions are expected in places in the interior of West Coast District of the Western Cape.


Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions in the interior of West Coast District and southern parts of Cape Winelands of the Western Cape and the south-western interior of the Northern Cape.


Gauteng: Partly cloudy in places at first, otherwise fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the late afternoon with isolated evening thunderstorms except in the extreme south.

Mpumalanga: Morning and evening fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm becoming cloudy in the east with evening drizzle along the escarpment.

Limpopo: Morning and evening fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the northern and western parts. It will be hot in the Western Bushveld.

Free State: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the central parts but scattered in the south-west.

Northern Cape: Fog along the coast at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the west and north. It will become cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the central and eastern parts but scattered in the south-east.

Western Cape: Fine in the south-west at first while cloudy along the south-coast where it will be warm, otherwise partly cloudy and hot but very hot to extremely hot in the western interior with isolated thundershowers in the north from late morning spreading along the south-east coast in the evening.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog over the northern interior, otherwise partly cloudy and

warm. Isolated showers are expected in the eastern and southern parts.
