A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the coastal areas of both the Northern Cape and West Coast District until Tuesday.

Mpumalanga: Cloudy in the east with fog and drizzle patches on the escarpment otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cold on the Highveld with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Limpopo: Cloudy in the west at first with scattered showers and thundershowers, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers. It will become cloudy in the east with fog and drizzle patches on the escarpment.

North West:Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers in the north and north-east.

Free State: Fine and warm to cool but partly cloudy in the extreme north and east.

Northern Cape: Very hot along the coast and adjacent interior, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly, becoming moderate south-easterly in the afternoon.

Western Cape: Cloudy at first over the north-eastern interior and south coast, where it will be cool with morning fog patches, becoming partly cloudy, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot in places along the west coast.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool with light morning showers east of St Francis becoming fine in the north and west. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly to north-easterly but moderate south-easterly in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers but scattered along the coast and its adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly becoming south-easterly from the south later.
