WEATHER: More flooding expected in Gauteng

Severe thunderstorms leading to possible heavy downpours and localised flooding are expected in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the Free State and North West Province.

Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions in places in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo as well as the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.


Gauteng: Cloudy at times and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Mpumalanga: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers. It will be hot to very hot in the Lowveld with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Limpopo: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the the Lowveld, Limpopo Valley and Western Bushveld.

Free State: Cool in places in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the south-west.

Northern Cape: Morning fog patches along the coast where it will be cloudy at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot to very hot in places in the north.

Western Cape: Cloudy along the coast at first with morning fog patches along the west coast, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and rain along the south coast and adjacent interior in the early morning. It will become fine in the north in the evening.
