WEATHER: Partly cloudy but hot

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the central interior of the Northern Cape while severe thunderstorms are possible in places along the eastern escarpment between Queenstown and Matatiele of the Eastern Cape, spreading to the extreme south-western parts of KwaZulu Natal later.

Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions over the north coast and north-eastern interior of KwaZulu Natal.
Gauteng: Hot in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the south.

Mpumalanga: Morning fog patches in the north-eastern escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the Lowveld. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected in the south western Highveld.

Limpopo: Morning fog patches in the eastern high grounds, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated showers in the extreme north-east.

Free State: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme south-east and in places in the east.

Northern Cape: Morning fog along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. It will be fine in the extreme west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly becoming strong in the afternoon.

Western Cape: Fine and hot in the West Coast district where there will be morning fog patches in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but cloudy with rain along the south coast and adjacent interior but widespread along the south coast where it will be cool,clearing from the west from late morning.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and rain. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.
Port Elizabeth: 18 / 24
KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy and hot but very hot in the extreme north-east. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected but scattered in the south-west.
