WEATHER: Rainy weather persists

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places in the West Coast District, Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands, western regions of the Overberg District of the Western Cape and the south-western parts of the Northern Cape.

Heavy rain leading to flooding is expected in Gauteng, central and eastern parts of the North-West province, extreme western parts of KwaZulu-Natal, the north-eastern parts of the Free State, and Highveld areas of Mpumalanga on Tuesday.


Gauteng: Cloudy and cool to cold with widespread showers and rain.


Pretoria: 17 / 20

Mpumalanga: Cloudy and cool to cold with widespread showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east. It will be warm in the Lowveld.

Limpopo: Cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and southern parts, otherwise partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers.


Polokwane: 17 / 22


North West: Cool in the central parts, otherwise cloudy and warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the east. It will become partly cloudy in the west in the evening.


Rustenburg: 18 / 20


Free State: Cold in places along the northern Lesotho border, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the north-east. It will become partly cloudy in the west in the evening.


Bloemfontein: 17 / 20


Northern Cape: Fog along the north coast in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the south and south-east.

Western Cape: Partly cloudy in the east clearing in the interior in the morning, otherwise fine and hot to very hot but warm along the south and south-western coast.


Cape Town: 18 / 33


Eastern Cape: Cloudy in places at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy and cool with widespread showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme south. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly to southerly.
