WEATHER: Severe thunderstorms expected
Gale force south-easterly wind of 60 to 70km/h are expected in places over the Cape Peninsula of the Western Cape from this afternoon.
Severe thunderstorms with possible heavy rainfall, hail, flash flooding, and damaging winds are expected over Gauteng, Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga, southern and western parts of Limpopo, central and eastern parts of the Northwest, northeastern parts of the Free State as well as the northern and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
Gauteng: Hot in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly along the west coast where it will be light and variable a first, otherwise fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly, reaching gale force along the Peninsula from the afternoon.
