WEATHER: Snow expected over Drakensberg

An intense cold front is expected to affect the country from Thursday evening through to Saturday.

The public and small stock farmers are advised that very cold conditions and snowfalls are expected in places over the high-lying areas of the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape as well as south-western KwaZulu-Natal.


Disruptive snowfalls are expected over the mountain passes in the southern Drakensberg and Sneeuberg Mountains of the Eastern Cape on Saturday.

Western Cape: Morning fog patches along the west and south-west coast, otherwise fine, windy and cool to warm but partly cloudy in the west with evening isolated showers and rain but scattered in the extreme west. It will become partly cloudy in places in the east from the late morning but cloudy in the west from the evening.
