[WEATHER] Temperatures warming up, but cool winds persist

The South African Weather Service says extremely high fire danger conditions can be expected in   places over the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the western and central interior of the Eastern Cape and the Central Karoo of the Western Cape.


It also issued a special advisory for strong interior winds expected over the Breede River Valley, Central Karoo, Namakwa and the Little Karoo as well as the northern interior of the Eastern Cape. 

Snowfalls are expected over the high-lying areas of the Eastern Cape on Friday. 


Gauteng: Partly cloudy and cool.


Mpumalanga: Partly cloudy in the morning with fog patches in places on the Highveld and along the escarpment, otherwise fine and cold to cool. It will be warm in the Lowveld.  

Limpopo: Cloudy in places over the eastern and central parts in the morning with fog patches, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. 

North West: Fine to partly cloudy and cool.

Free State: Fine to partly cloudy and cool.

Northern Cape: Fine and warm, but cold and windy over the southern interior. It will become partly cloudy, but cloudy in the west and south-west from the evening with isolated showers and rain. 

Western Cape: Fine to partly cloudy and windy over the north-eastern interior, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool with isolated to scattered showers and rain in the west from morning spreading to the south coast and adjacent interior by the evening. Light snowfalls are possible over the western mountain peaks.

Eastern Cape: Windy over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, becoming cloudy with isolated evening showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior west of Port Elizabeth.

KwaZulu-Natal: Fine and cool to warm.
