The SA Weather Service has issued a warning of a heat wave with persistently high temperatures that is expected in places over the Lowveld of Mpumalanga until at least Friday.

Gauteng: Hot in the north, otherwise fine and warm but windy in the southern Highveld.

Mpumalanga: Windy in the west, otherwise fine and warm to hot but very hot in the Lowveld.

Limpopo: Windy in places in the south-west, otherwise fine and hot but very hot in places in the Lowveld and the Western Bushveld.

North West: Fine and warm but hot in places in the north-east.

Free State: Fine and warm but partly cloudy in the south where isolated thundershowers are expected in places.

Northern Cape: Cold to cool in the south, otherwise fine and warm but partly cloudy in the extreme south-east where isolated thundershowers are expected. It will be cloudy in the west at first with morning fog patches along the coast.

Western Cape: Cold along the south-west coast where it will be cloudy in the morning with light rain at times, otherwise partly cloudy and cool.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool with isolated light morning rain in the south. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly becoming south-westerly.


Port Elizabeth: 13 / 20


KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy in the morning becoming fine and warm, otherwise hot but very hot in places in the north-east. It will become cloudy from the south-east in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.
