The South African Weather Service has issued a special advisory for a heat wave with persistently high temperatures expected along the coastal areas of the Northern Cape until Sunday.

Gauteng: Fine and cool. 

Mpumalanga: Fine and cold becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and rain in the east. It will be cool in the Lowveld.

Limpopo: Cloudy in the north and east at times with morning drizzle, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. 

North West: Partly cloudy in the north, otherwise fine and cool.

Free State: Fine and cool.

Northern Cape: Fine and cool but warm along the coast where it will be windy. It will be cold in places in the south. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly.

Western Cape: Morning mist in places in the south-west, otherwise fine and cool. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly but easterly in the south.

Eastern Cape: Fine and cool. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly becoming south-easterly from midday.

KwaZulu-Natal: Fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in the north in the afternoon
