The South Africa Weather Service has issued a level 4 warning for parts of the province.

This includes areas already devoted by this week’s torrential rains.

Forecaster Kgolofelo Masango says disruptive rain is expected to fall in parts of the province on Saturday.

“It will be very difficult for people to work while it’s raining because any amount of rainfall for KZN will pose some danger to them seeing as the surface is already saturated, bridges have already washed off, the river banks have already erupted.

“Any kind of work will be almost impossible to carry out," says Masango.

The setback will come as the province picks up the pieces of the record-breaking floods that left close to 400 people dead, as well as massive damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure.

“It’s going to be quite a day for KZN.”

Eastern Cape and Gauteng are also expected to experience thundershowers.

Masango adds the rain in these two provinces is unlikely to reach the magnitudes seen in KZN.

“It’s not expected to be as in intense as it was in KZN.

“The impact expected for Gauteng is quite minor, people can still go about their normal lives, however they need to be careful of flooded streams, not cross any flooded streets and if possible, try stay home because the roads will be quite slippery with reduced visibility which will make driving conditions very difficult,” Masango warns.
