Wet, warm and dry summer on the cards for large parts of South Africa
Updated | By Lebohang Ndashe
Expect a hot, dry, and wet summer, with thundershowers and possible flooding.

Provinces including Kwa-Zulu Natal, Gauteng and Limpopo are often prone to disruptive weather conditions from October to January.
According to weather forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela, these provinces can expect severe weather disruptions.
Holidaymakers have been advised to take the necessary precautions.
“With above normal rain, we might have heavy rains which may lead to flooding” Thobela added.
Meanwhile, the green tourism incentive initiative by National Tourism Department has opened. The initiative financially assists private sector tourism enterprises to reduce the cost of investing in energy and water efficient solutions.
The department’s spokesperson Tasneem Carrim told Jacaranda FM News that South Africa is among the leading players in the green tourism industry.
“South Africa is one the frontrunners in the green tourism sector, we have introduced a cleaner and sustainable way of operation with the tourism department. We urge everyone to follow suit as this is a collaborative effort,” said Carrim.
The green tourism incentive program provides grant funding of up to R1 million to qualifying small and micro tourism enterprises for the installation of solutions to reduce their energy. Qualifying enterprises are urged to apply for the grant on https://www.idc.co.za/green-tourism-incentive-programme
