Environmental Affairs Department spokesperson, James Styan, says there have been reports of heavy flooding in the large parts of the province, leaving some families displaced.
"The city has been providing the necessary support and will release its own update. Furthermore, 18 structures were damaged in Ladismith in the Kannaland district."
Stayn added that other reports have been relatively minor in scale.
The South African Weather Services has warned of strong winds especially along the coastline as well as heavy seas and damaging waves.
