Woman chases down seven robbers

The 31-year-old man was part of a group of seven that apparently entered the store on Saturday afternoon and threatened the owner and two customers with a firearm, said police spokesperson Kelebogile Moleko.

 

She said the group tied up the three women with a cable and took liquor and cash. 

 

They left the scene in a maroon Ford Tracer with no vehicle registration plates.

 

The victim [owner] managed to escape, drove after the suspects and fired three shots with her firearm in their direction, Moleko said.

 

The driver lost control of the car and hit a wall. The rest of the group ran away. The man was expected to appear in the Orkney Magistrate's Court on Monday.
