A 36-year-old woman is expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, after she was found in possession of mandrax tablets aboard a minibus taxi, Northern Cape police said.

Spokesperson Liuetenant Olebogeng Tawana said police in Kimberley received a tip-off about a woman about to board a taxi to Hartswater and in possession of the drugs.
”The police reacted promptly to the information, and the woman was found inside the taxi. When she realised that the police were on her trail she dropped a plastic bag containing mandrax tablets under her seat,” Tawana said.
Tawana added that 146 tablets were worth R6000. The woman faces charges of drug possession.
