Xolani Gwala to receive special provincial funeral

President Cyril Ramaphosa has honoured broadcast veteran Xolani Gwala with a special provincial official funeral.
Gwala will be laid to rest in Impendle in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.
Ramaphosa has instructed that flags fly at half-mast in the province to commemorate Gwala.
Gwala lost his two-year battle with colon cancer at the age of 44 last Friday.

Ramaphosa declared a special provincial official funeral category 2 for the broadcaster.
“We have lost a youthful veteran in an important sector in our country. Xolani Gwala carried with him the values of our transition to democracy – the values of listening and being open to views that conflict with or offend your own, and a focus on solutions,” the Presidency said in a statement.
