YCLSA calls on SACP to contest 2019 elections

The Young Communist League of South Africa says they don't support any presidential candidate proposed by the ANC Women's League or Youth League and the MKMVA.

Young Communist League secretary Mluleki Dlelanga said these leagues are part of those trying to liquidate the ANC.

"We don't have any confidence in any person proposed by these leagues to head the ANC in 2017, because they are arrogant and interested in self-enrichment politics. We will support a leader who comes from the working class."

The YCLSA also said the recent local government elections sent a clear message to the ANC, that they must stop being arrogant.

Dlelanga said perhaps the time had come for the SACP to stand independently from the tri-partite alliance and contest the 2019 local government elections.

"In July next year at the SACP conference we will table a special motion for the party to register as an independent political party."

He pointed out that this was not a new suggestion.

The young reds also called on President Jacob Zuma to fire Minister of Mineral Resources, Msebenzi Zwane.

It says Zwane had reduced himself to being a spokesperson of the Gupta family.
