Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Young people have borne the brunt of the recession since 2008 through job losses and have not benefited from the mild recovery, a new report by Statistics SA showed on Monday.
The report found that between 2008, the start of the recession, and the first quarter of this year 221 000 jobs have been lost among people in the 15 to 34-year-old age bracket, compared with an increase of 1,2 million jobs among adults in the 35 to 64-year-old group over the same period.
