Zille: Race war will destroy South Africa
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Democratic Alliance (DA) federal council chair Helen Zille says a race war would destroy South Africa.

Zille was in Senekal in the Free State on Friday for the court case of the two men accused of murdering 21-year-old farm manager Brendin Horner.
The bail application by the two man has led to rising tensions in the small town, with various groups protesting outside the court building.
She says it’s important for the DA to be at the court case.
"We are opposed to the rhetoric that polarises South Africans, we are opposed to people who use demagoguery to whip up crowds and emotions of black against white or white against blacks. We believe in the rational center of politics, and we want to bring people together who want to build.
"Most South Africans know that if we turn this country into a racial war there will be nothing left for anybody to inherit, and if we kill farmers there will be no food for everybody either. People are fundamentally rational and I don't know what land the EFF is protecting because most people are still paying off banks for their land," said Zille.
She added that the DA believes it’s important for the police do more to curb farm murders.
