Zim opposition parties unite against Mugabe

Zimbabwe’s opposition parties have written a letter to
President Robert Mugabe requesting an urgent meeting regarding the state of
Zimbabwe’s economy.
Zimbabwean Correspondent Zenzele Ndebele says opposition parties are uniting under the National Electoral Reforms Agenda and the Coalition of Democrats.
“They want to meet with Mugabe to discuss the deepening economic crises and find out what the government is doing to deal with this crisis,” he said.
Ndebele says the opposition parties are planning a march to the Zimbabwean Electoral Commission in Harare.
“They want to petition the electoral commission on electoral reforms ahead the 2018 Presidential and Parliamentary elections,” he said.
Zimbabwe’s deepening economic crises has seen thousands taking to the streets demanding change.
Ndebele says it is the first time all 18 opposition parties have come together.
“In the past we have seen Joyce Mujuru and Morgan Tsvangirai come together and address rallies together, but the issue has always been who leads this opposition when elections approach,” he said.
