Zimbabwean church asks Mnangagwa to stop Somizi visit

The Apostolic Christian Council of
Zimbabwe has asked President Emmerson Mnangagwa to intervene and stop the visit
by South African celeb Somizi Mhlongo.
The South African TV personality and influencer is once again making headlines.
This time he's made international news.
Somizi is set to visit Zimbabwe for the reopening of the Garwe Restaurant, but he doesn't seem to be welcomed by all locals. The star is set to appear as a guest chef, but he might need to cancel his plans if one organisation has its way.
The Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe have made it explicitly clear that they do not even want Somizi to set foot in Zimbabwe.
They are not happy with Somizi’s sexual orientation.
The council has written a letter to Mnangagwa, calling on him to intervene and put a stop to the visit. They have stated that they were upset to learn that Somizi would be visiting and they are firmly against these plans.
According to them: "Somizi is a homosexual, hence according to our people's driven Constitution, Zimbabwe doesn't tolerate homosexuality."
They believe his visit will affect the land and the children.
