Members of the judiciary gathered at the Constitutional Court on Wednesday to pay tribute to outgoing Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.

Zondo is set to retire from his role at the end of August.
Zondo's illustrious career included chairing the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, which was tasked with probing allegations of large-scale corruption during the tenure of former president Jacob Zuma.
Deputy Chief Justice Mandisa Maya will take over the role.
Maya praised Zondo for continuously implementing programmes that enhanced the roles of women in the judiciary.
"Under his leadership, Chief Justice Zondo actively promoted gender transformation in the judiciary,” she said.
“During his brief tenure as the chairperson of the Judiciary Service Commission, he supported the appointment of more women to the bench and the elevation of women judges to leadership positions within the institution, including me.
"He did not stop there. He also promoted mentorship and training programmes aimed at advancing and empowering female judges and lawyers.”
Advocate Myron Dewrance also commended Zondo for his contribution to advancing racial and gender transformation in the judiciary.
Dewrance, speaking on behalf of Advocates for Transformation, said Zondo had an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of truth and justice.
"His relentless pursuit of truth and justice has reinforced the public's faith in our institutions. He has demonstrated through his actions that the rule of law is not a mere idea but a commitment to which we must all adhere.
