President Jacob Zuma arrived in Brazzaville on Thursday for a meeting on the situation in the Central African Republic (CAR), the department of international relations said.
Zuma would be attending the first meeting, scheduled for Friday, of the International Contact Group, spokesman Clayson Monyela said in a statement. "The meeting... is convened by the President of the Republic of Congo... Dennis Sasou-N'guesso, and is expected to discuss appropriate decisions and means necessary to bring the CAR to constitutional normalcy.
"The meeting follows the decision of the recent Extraordinary Summit of the Economic Community of Central African States, held in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad, which resolved to establish a committee of states to work on various aspects of the Libreville Agreement." Zuma was being accompanied by a delegation which included State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele.
